Each of the next items should be between one and two paragraphs long, not in list form.

Appearance. On the tall side but not overly so, lean-he got in good shape traveling during the plague aftermath. Hazel/green eyes, brownish hair, quite attractive (or in Sinise Daily, we’d say “drop dead gorgeous” rofl) May always have a slight limp though his broken leg was properly reset in Boulder.
Personality. Usually fairly level-headed and common sense. He tends not to be much of a talker. He doesn’t take crap from anyone and doesn’t like not being told the truth or people being evasive, like the soldiers and doctors at Stovington. He can be a little stubborn at times, and he’s very protective of Frannie and the baby. Though he’s changed a lot through the plague, he’s always had some small-town country boy inside somewhere because of his small town roots.
History. Before the plague, he was living and working in Arnette, Texas, where he grew up. As a teen, he played football to try and get a scholarship but abandoned it when his mother got sick. One of his siblings died as a child and the other made it big and moved to Minnesota. He was married for about 18 months but his wife, Norma, died of cancer. He worked in the town’s calculator factory and sometimes made extra working at Hap’s gas station. He was one of the first people Charles Campion came into contact with when he crashed into Bill Hapscomb’s Texaco station and the town fell ill.

He was taken with the other townsfolk first to Altlanta, then Stovington,Vermont, where he was held by the government, which was determined but unable to discover the secret of his immunity. He killed the man sent to kill him and escaped, then headed west. After meeting Glen Bateman, he met Frannie Goldsmith and Harold Lauder and after convincing Harold Stovington was empty, they headed west. Eventually, Stu and Frannie admitted their love, much to Harold’s dismay.

After arriving in Boulder, Stu served on the temporary Free Zone Committee, and was elected town marshal, much to Frannie’s dismay. After the explosion set by Harold and Nadine, he was one of the four sent to Vegas to stand against Flagg. As the “one who will fall by the wayside” with a badly broken leg, he alone survived the nuclear blast and was found near death with pneumonia by Tom Cullen, who with a little apparently supernatural help from the late Nick Andros, nursed him back to health. He and Tom return to oulder just after Frannie had her baby. Later, Stu and Frannie decided to pack up their family and eave Boulder and head back east, toward Maine, away from the now somewhat crowded city. At the end of tne novel, it’s indicated Frannie was pregnant with Stu’s child.

Romantic involvement(s). Frannie Goldsmith
Likes and dislikes. It’s probably safe to say that his experiences in Stovington gave him a healthy dislike of government types, or at least the secretive jerk types that kept him prisoner and did experiments. He didn’t like doctors even before the plague because of their evasiveness during his first wife, Norma’s battle with cancer. He occasionally likes smoking a pipe (though he more often smokes cigs-even these he's cut back, especially since the first Zone doctor was a country vet and he didn't fancy needing lung cancer surgery from him) and he likes his beer, in moderation.
Quirks. A few physical type ones were mentioned in the book; he dreams a lot more than average and gets a mild facial tic when he’s angry.
